Open your return. (To do this, sign in to TurboTax and select Pick up where you left off.)
Using the search tool in the upper right, search for self-employed expenses (use this exact term) and select the Jump to link in the search results.
You'll enter your expenses in this section using the table below.
It’s perfectly okay to enter Miscellaneous Expenses. As a self-employed person, you'll typically have some expenses that don’t quite fit into the expense categories listed on tax forms. In this case you definitely want to add your own labels for certain expenses.
To add miscellaneous expenses:
Select Other miscellaneous expenses from the What kind of expenses did you have... screen.
You can then give a name and amount to each miscellaneous expense that you have.
You can group several expenses together under one name as appropriate.
