How do I enter my expenses from my Uber Tax Summary into the TurboTax mobile app?

You can enter the expenses from your Uber Tax Summary into the TurboTax mobile app. Here’s how:

Certain Uber expenses need to be combined and entered as a single amount in TurboTax.

To review your Uber expenses:

  1. Sign in to Uber.com.
  2. Select the Tax Information tab at the top.
  3. Go to the Tax Documents section and Download your Yearly Summary for 2023.
  4. Your Yearly Summary will have several expense categories (like Tolls, Black Car Fund, Safe Rides Fee). Each category will have an amount shown for the year.

  2. Select the Tax Information tab at the top.
  3. Go to the Tax Documents section and Download your Yearly Summary for 2023.
  4. Your Yearly Summary will have several expense categories (like Tolls, Black Car Fund, Safe Rides Fee). Each category will have an amount shown for the year.
  1. Open the app and sign in to TurboTax.
  2. Select Wages & Income and then Review/Edit or Pick up where you left off.
  3. Select Self-employment income and expenses.
    • If you haven't already set up your ridesharing work in TurboTax, you'll answer a few questions to do so. You might need to select Add another line of work to get started.
    • If you have set up your work, select Review next to your ridesharing work.
  4. Answer the questions until you get to the Select the expense categories you have screen. Select the box next to the expense category you have to report (see table below). Tap Less common expenses to see the full list. Once you've made your selections, tap Continue.
  5. If you've already added this work, find and select Add expenses for this work..
  6. Different expenses go in different categories, which are explained in the following table.
