Can i deduct tuition costs for truck driver training school that was paid partially by me and the GI Bill?

I enrolled and paid Southwest Truck Driver Training School.  Tuition was $6495.00.  I paid $649.50 and GI Bill covered $5845.50.  I did not receive a 1098-T.  Can I take an Education Credit?  Graduated from school and received my CDL.

Yes - you may be able to qualify for Lifetime Learning Credit for your expense of $649. The credit is for expenses paid for undergraduate, graduate, and courses to acquire or improve job skills. However, the credit does not give you refund, it only reduces you tax assessed on the taxable income; which means you may not see the difference on your tax return.
