This year, after filling in all $ info, I don't see a Schedule A in my TT return. Only Schedule 1, 2 and B. Why?

I filled in all federal and state info and I do not see Schedule A among the completed forms. I see Schedule 1, 2 and B. Please help!

Your total itemized deductions must be less than your standard deduction, so TurboTax is using the standard deduction because you pay less tax, or get a bigger refund, that way. Schedule A is not used when you take the standard deduction instead of itemized deductions. The standard deduction amounts were greatly increased starting with 2018 tax returns, and some itemized deductions were eliminated or limited. Therefore many people who used to itemize deductions now find that the standard deduction is higher than their itemized deductions.

Your standard deduction is on Form 1040 (or 1040-SR) line 9.

If you are getting the Standard Deduction you don't get a Schedule A.  You can temporarily switch to Itemized Deductions to print out Schedule A and then switch back.

For 2019 the standard deduction amounts for line 9 are:

Single 12,200 + 1,650 for 65 and over or blind

HOH 18,350 + 1,650 for 65 and over or blind

Joint 24,400+ 1,300 for each 65 and over or blind

Married filing Separate 12,200 + 1,300 for 65 and over or blind

If it's giving you the Standard Deduction and  not showing you Schedule A you can check the actual amount of itemized deductions by using by going to

Tax Tools on left

Tools - Topic Search (top left box)

Type in  itemized deductions, choosing.  It should highlight that in the list, click on GO

Then Click on "Change my deduction". That will display the actual amount of itemized deductions vs. the standard deduction.    (Be sure to uncheck "Change my deduction" after checking it so you do not lock in the wrong deduction.

This year deductions are changing and several will be limited.  There is a max 10,000 limit of State, local, property, and sales tax (SALT) deduction.  And employee job expenses have been suspended.  You can only deduct Medical/Dental that's over 7.5% of your AGI.
