How do I add a second schedule c to my return?

I can't figure out how to add a new business to my return, and enter separate income and expenses for each business.

Are you using the Online version or the Desktop program?  Here are some old notes, don't know if they still work.

Open your return and type Schedule C in the Search box. Select the Jump to link.

To add another business or Schedule C….

Go to Federal

Wages and Income,

Then scroll way down to Business Items

Business Income and Expenses - Click the Start or Update button

You should see the Business Summary page that lists your businesses, right below the list you can Add Another Business

And see this one to add another Schedule C

If you've already entered self-employment work and need to enter more, select Add another line of work.

None of this made much sense to me. I'm using the Mac desktop version of the software. I think I finally did it by adding a new 1099, and then I was able to attach it to a new business. But it's a very backdoor sort of process, as far as I can tell.

Do you have the Home & Business version?  I haven't bought 2022 yet but I assume it will be the same as 2021.  I have Windows but I think Mac is the same.

Go to the Business Tab - Continue

Then select I'll choose what I work on

Then pick the top item Business Income & Expenses - Click on Update

Then you should get this screen

Yes, I have the Home and Business version. And yes, the screen you are showing me is what I would expect to see at some point. But it doesn't show up in the Mac desktop version. It certainly doesn't appear following the sequence you are suggesting. And if it's there somewhere, I can't figure out how to get to it.

But thanks very much for your persistent efforts to help!
