How do I enter my charitable donations in TurboTax?
You can deduct charitable donations if you make them to qualified organizations and you itemize your deductions.
To itemize, you need to:
Keep track of what you contributed to charity during the year
Maintain supporting documentation, such as receipts
That might sound like a lot of recordkeeping, but it can pay off if your total itemized deductions are higher than the Standard Deduction.
For tax year 2025, the Standard Deduction is:
Single taxpayers: $15,750
Married taxpayers filing a joint return: $31,500
Heads of household: $23,625
