Why is it so difficult to get the DCN number for the e-filing through turbotax?

I have called customer service three times!

1. The first person said he had no access to it

2. The second person had no ideas of DCN

3. The third person just repeated that the DCN is in our e-filing confirmation emails. I told him no DCN in the confirmation emails.

Please let me know how I can get DCN?

Using the TurboTax tax preparation software there will not be a DCN because you did not use an ERO, your tax return was self-prepared.

There will be included an Electronic Postmark Report which has the date/time the tax return was transmitted and the date the tax return was Accepted by the IRS, if accepted.

Click on Forms.  When in Forms mode Postmark Report will be listed at the bottom of the federal tax return forms, schedules and worksheets.

@DoninGA

Yes, I did find that form., but it is for the Federal tax e-filing.

I am looking for the DCN for my state tax e-filing.

The turbotax says 'my state return is accepted', but my state said they didn't get my return.

You will have to call TurboTax support again and tell them you need the State MeF Submission ID.  If the agent does not know or says they do not have access to that, then request to speak with a supervisor and explain the reason for your request, it is available.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for contacting support - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/account-management/turbotax-phone-number/L0Od33nMQ_US_en_US?uid=lfgviwbm

@DoninGAAfter talking to two supervisors, i finally got the DCN.

The first one even doesn't know how to speak English. I had to call again and talked to another supervisor who is able to speak English.
