What does it mean when my transcript says we have no record of a processed tax return. Then what’s my AGI?

Use zero as AGI.

If the IRS says there is no record of a return----either you did not file a return for that year, or you filed it so late that they have not put your information into the system yet.  Use "zero" as your AGI in order to try to e-file 2023.   If zero will not work then you can print, sign and mail your tax return instead of e-filing it.

And.....if you think you filed a 2022 return and it is not showing up on the IRS site----you had better check to see if you really filed the return.   Was it rejected?  What does it say in your TurboTax account?   Does it say "accepted?"   If it says "printed," "ready to mail" , or "rejected" it was not filed.   TurboTax does not mail returns for you.    If it was not filed last year, then you can still file it now, but it has to be filed by mail.  E-filing is closed for 2022 returns.

I have the same issue.  It states that the 2022 tax return for one of my family members was not received.  I used turbotax desktop for windows,  Is there any number I can pull off of the accepted efile to show it was sent?

You can get a transcript using the link below.

The IRS uses your prior year AGI to combat fraud.

You can find your 2022 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) by:

Looking at line11 on page 1 of your 2022 Form 1040; or

You can request a transcript of your 2022 tax return from the IRS to ensure you have the right number. You can request your transcript online at the following link: Get Transcript

Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number.  If you:

Filed late last year after mid-November or your return was processed after that time—try entering 0.

Amended your return last year—make sure you’re using the AGI from your original return, not the amended one. (If you only have a 1040X form, it’s on line 1, column A).

Rounded your AGI to the nearest dollar—be sure to round up when it’s 50 cents or more and down when it’s 49 cents or less.

Filed with your spouse last year—you and your spouse have the same 2022 AGI. (Don’t split the AGI amount or enter 0 for one of you).

Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.

This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

Per the IRS Site, The IRS has no record of my 2022 return, however they do have my payment.

Will I need to mail my 1040 for 2022 along with my 2023 or just the 2023?
