The IRS and two States have no record of my 2021 Taxes. I paid TurboTax and I have copies. I have been unable to get satifactory answers from support. Help?

Filing was completed on time, with no detected errors.  No red flags were raised until I received a recent notice from IRS.  Support told me this was all impossible and left me on hold for hours.  I am afraid to send good $ after bad since I did not get what I paid for.  I have used TurboTax for years, without problem.

Log into your account and see if they were accepted.  Maybe the rejected.  Did you efile?

Maybe you didn't finish filing it or it Rejected.  When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc.  what does it say?

Then when you efile you get back 2 emails.  The first email only confirms the transmission.  The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepte.d or Rejected your efile.  Check back though your emails if you have them.

In the PDF of your TurboTax return, the last page of the federal return should be an "electronic postmark" that shows your name, Social Security number, the date and time that you e-filed the return, and the date that the IRS accepted it.

Or another possibility is you didn't pay a tax due?  Maybe the bank account or routing number was wrong and they could not debit your account.  If you had a tax due check your bank account to see if it got paid.

IRS has entered all the 2021 tax returns  from e-File into their systems.

If the IRS has no record of your 2021 tax return, you have to resubmit it on paper via US Mail.

Same with states.

I believe you, I have seen it before. Start with what VolvoGirl said and determine if your returns were rejected or actually filed.

If they were filed, you will need to contact us and get the DCN, which is the tracking number. Then you can call the IRS at 800-829-1040 and give them the DCN to track your return. Once the federal finds it, then you can move on to the states.

Returns can be transmitted to the IRS but their system is down and the returns vanish.

Ok so I called my state tax board about another year and they told me i never filed 2018. I checked my records I paid turbo tax all the fees and it was submitted. I checked my bank for the entire year and just realized i never got any of my refunds. WTF!

Now i need to figure out which pages to print and send since I am not printing 300+ pages one for federal and one for state. This is soooo bad.

In the massive PDF file the state return will be after the federal return ... ignore anything that is a worksheet ... only print the actual tax forms using the PDF reader print options.
