The amount deposited from PE2 SBTPG LLC is much less than my federal return should be. I do not owe any money to the government. What is going on?

Your refund may be different if you used the Refund Processing Service to pay your TurboTax Online fees. If you did, your TurboTax fee plus the additional processing fee is deducted from your federal tax refund. I did not agree to $800+ in processing fees, and I do not have any offset debts. The amount of money in question does not make sense.

What was the response about the huge fee?

This processing fee does not make sense unless two things happened:

1. You had a tax due on your tax return and you had to pay for the tax dues.
2. Or your return was submitted and the IRS garnished your refund.

If none of these apply to you, you will want to contact a specialist that can look at your screen to determine the origin of that charge.
