Should I amend? I received a W2 for a company I left in '16 with '17 income on it (that's confusing but not the point) its for 229.68. Does that amount matter?

Although, the amount may not make a material difference in your tax return, you should amend your 2017 tax return if you omitted the entry of a W-2 form. These forms submitted to the IRS by your employer will be matched with the ones you included on your return. 

But there is no rush. The 1040X amended form is not scheduled to be finalized until 2/8/18. Wait until your originally filed 2017 return is fully processed before attempting and amendment. When the 1040X form is complete, and your original filed return fully processed, follow the directions below.
