I filed my taxes on january 12 , robinhood was late on sending the 1099B and I completed forgot to included it on my tax return however I bought an stock on robinhood for 51 dollars and I sold it fo 47 around 4 dollars loss, my IRS already has accepted my return, question is should I amend? Thanks in advance .
Generally, yes, you should amend your income tax return if you need to report a tax form you forgot about or received post-filing (most commonly a W-2, 1099, or 1095-A). However, wait until the IRS finishes processing your return. They may catch the error and send you a letter.
NOTE: At this time, you're not able to amend a 2020 income tax return. As of today, it's estimated that the IRS will finalize the 1040X form on 03/25/2021. However check the forms availability to see any updates to that date.
Note: Generally, Form 1040-X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, must be filed within three years of the date the original return was filed, or within two years of the date the tax was paid, whichever is later.
