My return has not been accepted it’s still pending and I e-filed 1/23/2019

Your tax return will be Pending until the IRS starts accepting 2018 tax returns on or after 01/28/19.  You will receive an email from TurboTax when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.  After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website -

I filed on the 23rd as well mine is still pending did your get accepted

I didn’t get an acceptance either just transmitted note

i filed on 01/25/2019 and mine was accepted on 01/28/2019

This is great news I also hear some folks have DD dates I wonder how true

My state is still pending. I also filed 1.23.

My Oregon State was accepted on 1/28/19 good luck

Filed 1/21/19 still not accepted what’s going on never had to wait this long just to get accepted

Can anyone that’s still pending let me know if you get accepted today I’ve been waiting for over a week now still nothing

I called customer service the other day and they were fairly unsure as well and just provided me links, no real answers. I believe we just have to wait. I hear state is just slower and it seems to be more prominent this year. I’ll let the group know when my state is accepted.

Still pending I have a feeling it has to do with the shutdown because I've always got excepted practically the same day they start accepting returns. But who knows

@justjohn825 yes same here never waited just to get accepted I’m so stressed over this

The IRS pulls tax returns from all the various tax preparation company servers.  Just because the IRS just started processing 2018 tax returns on 01/28 does not mean all the several million returns that have been filed early are going to be pulled within 24 to 48 hours at the start of the tax season.  Those hours would be correct for later in the season.

Mine was accepted. Likely just a backlog.

i filed and was accepted both on 1/30. was accepted within about an hour. seems like every year people that file before the opening day - 1/28/19 this year - seem to get stuck for a few before accepted. this has always prompted me to wait a few days after they officially open.
