My refund was rejected and I noticed a mistake on my W2. I now want a professional to look over everything in person. Do I have to refile online? Will I need a 1040X?

My refund was rejected due to something unrelated but there is also a mistake in my W2.  I am thinking that I want to sit down with someone because my situation is more complicated than I first realized.  If the return (efile) was rejected, do I need at 1040X when I go to the CPA? Or can I just start with a clean slate (1040) since the one I filed was rejected?

No. You do not need to re-file online or file a 1040X.
