My New York State tax return was accepted and when checking the where’s my refund tool it says the refund amount requested doesn’t match what was provided. Please help?

The refund tool on NYS Tax website tells me the refund amount I entered doesn’t match what turbo tax provided. I checked my NYS tax refund amount which is the same info I have been entering and still giving me the same response. Please help?

You can track your state return by clicking here

Please ensure you are entering a whole dollar amount. Please allow 48 hours after the return has been accepted by the state in order for tracking to be able to be found.

Having same problem NYS refund system says amount doesn’t match but lifting it directly from the TurboTax printout that I have. Double checked TurboTax screen too. I have entered correctly.

Just like the federal WMR?  tool the state WMR? tool can be faulty ... so if you got the email that the return was accepted for processing then check the state site again later.

It’s been a week since they accepted the return and I’ve checked it every day. Anyone else having this problem?

@Leash1204

Don't panic!  It could be $1 off or different and the Refund Tool will not provide any information.  It is a security measure that ensures that you are indeed the taxpayer and amounts match for the inquiry to process and provide information.  There could have been a calculation correction when the return was submitted that has caused a difference.  Your option is to wait for the refund to see if and what the amount of the difference is and if there is an issue.

Thank you for replying! It showed up today on the site. I think NY may be a bit behind. Thought I’d share in case someone else is going through the same.
