If your only income was Social Security you do not have to file a tax return.  Sounds like you entered a SSA1099 in the wrong place.

You must file a federal return if half your SS or RRTA benefits plus your other income exceeds

Single, HOH, or qualifying widower  $25,000

Married filing Jointly  $32,000

Married filing Separately $0

Whether or not your Social Security income is taxable depends on your total income, including your Social Security plus any other income. Generally speaking, if your only income is Social Security, you probably don't make enough money to be required to file a federal tax return.   See Social Security Income
