My husband filed jointly he has 1099k and I have w2

My husband filed jointly he has 1099k and I have w2 but while filing it didn’t ask for my w2 and income information. Only about my husband’s. What should I do? Can I file again jointly for my w2?

If you have already filed, you will have to amend. If you haven't, if you mark that you are MFJ and include both spouses' names in the Personal Info section, you will be asked who the form belongs to. See the screenshot below. The W-2 has the same format.

If you have to amend, see this LINK.

I haven’t filed yet my husband filed his tax return through turbo tax last night and did it jointly. I don’t know if I can still edit it. He already paid for it. Where can I put my W2 in there? Which section?

No, you can't make corrections to a return that has been filed. You will have to wait until the IRS accepts it and then amend.

To get to your W-2:

  1. Select the search icon at the top of the page and search for W-2 and select the Jump to link.
  2. Select Work on my W-2 now and Continue.
    • If you've already entered a W-2, select the Add another W-2 button.
  3. Enter your Employer Identification Number (EIN) from Box b on your W-2.
  4. If your W-2 can be imported, you'll come to the Great news! We can automatically import your W-2 info automatically screen. Provide the requested information to complete your import.

Amendments are not available yet.

How are we going to know if IRS already received his tex return? For adding my W2, should I use my husband’s account to add it?

Also, when he filed the tax return last night he put that I'm currently unemployed. I was employed from 2019 to June2020 of last year that’s why I have my w2. How can IRS ask for my W2 if my husband put that I’m currently unemployed?

1). You are filing jointly. Every bit of income for both of you goes on one tax return. Both your names should be listed on the return. You will get an email acceptance from IRS.

2) If you were unemployed part of the year, it is acceptable. The IRS will understand.

Thank you! My husband checked the status and his filing was rejected. Can I now edit it and put my income and W2 information in there? I remember it was asking for my 2019 W2 but last year we filed separately for our 2019 tax return. Now I have my 2020 W2.

Yes, since it was rejected, it is not considered filed and you can enter your W-2.
