Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?
Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "

Transmit my returns now

".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.

To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

I filed on March 1st. Because this was my first time filing on turbo tax and I didn't have last year's tax information (this is only the second year I have filed my taxes.. not fraudulent just young lol) I had to file via mail. I have no way of knowing if it was "accepted" or if it somehow got lost in the mail or what.

Mailed returns don't get Accepted or Rejected.  And Turbo Tax will always say Ready to Mail.  They don't know if or when you actually mailed it.  The only way to know if the IRS got it is to mail it with a tracking number from the post office.

They are not processing mailed returns right now.  The mail is stacking up in trailers at the IRS.

I efiled my grandson's return today. It was rejected because of the birthdate but the birthdate is correct. What do i do now. I also filed by print in February. There's nothing on the IRS check my refund. I don't know what to do.

I filed my taxes in Mid April and I still haven't received my refunds yet. I sent them in by mail. I used the "Track my refunds" on the IRA website and they can't find my information. Should I send them in again or change it to efile instead?

Also, I had the option to do efile but I didn't have the code from the previous years.

I filed my grandsons tax returns in February for one and March for the other. The Federal track my refund has no information about the refunds. I tried to refile via e file for one grandson. The system kept kicking back saying the birth date was wrong. But it wasn't. Then my grandson received his State refund. He is still waiting on the Federal refund. My second grandson has received nothing.

Should I refile by  e file. Is anyone who filed with paper getting their Federal refunds?

To everyone....... if you mailed your return then do NOT mail it again and DO NOT efile.  You just have to keep waiting.   They are not processing mailed returns right now. The mail is stacking up in trailers at the IRS.

When I checked status on my refund all it tells me is "topic 152". I have no idea what that is. I can't find out what the problem is so I can fix it or get info that may be needed. There is no body to talk to yet I am being billed for tax services that have not been one bit of help. How can I find out what the problem is and how can it be fixed?

IRS Tax Topic 152 - https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc152

The IRS is taking much longer to process a tax return due to the pandemic.  If there was a problem with your tax return the IRS would have sent you a letter or notice in the mail.

Sorry you have to keep waiting.  So please be patient.  The mail is stacking up in trailers at the IRS because of the virus.

I think they just started opening the mail in June that's been stacking up.

Same here. Their website currently states:

Processing Delays for Paper Tax Returns

We continue to process electronic and paper tax returns, issue refunds, and accept payments. We’re experiencing delays in processing paper tax returns due to limited staffing. If you already filed a paper return, we will process it in the order we received it.

Do not file a second tax return or call the IRS.

I filed in early March 2020 via mail, printing it out because I never received my 2018 return, either. How am I supposed to ever be able to file my taxes online if the IRS never gets back with a return?

Next time you file your return and want to electronically file, you can try entering $0 in the prior year Adjusted Gross Income line.  This may come into play next year depending upon how long it does take for the IRS to process your 2019 tax return.
