I am 100% sure I never got the $1,400 stimulus payment in 2021 and that money would be literally life saving right now but I am terrified the IRS is going to kick my door in if I file this honestly. I never received the letter that tells you the amount you received and it should have been direct deposited into my account like the $600 payment was, but it wasn't. My payment sat in limbo on the get my payment tool until they shut the tool down. I don't want to get in trouble for filing this honestly when I've heard so many stories of people getting in trouble with the IRS because of something little when I'm sure if I just check the box that says I got my payment the IRS won't look twice.
The IRS is not going to kick your door down.
Letter 6475 is sent by the IRS to people who received the 3rd EIP payment. If you did not receive that stimulus check then they would not send you that letter. If you are eligible to get the 3rd EIP payment you can get it by answering the questions in Federal Review for the recovery rebate credit. The EIP amount will show up on line 30 of your Form 1040 and will be added to your refund.

If you mean that they sent you the 3rd EIP payment but you did not receive the payment then you need to have it traced.
LOST THIRD STIMULUS CHECK
LOST 1st or 2nd STIMULUS CHECK
A1. If you received your payment by check and it was lost, stolen or destroyed, you may need to request a payment trace so the IRS can determine if your payment was cashed. See How do I request a payment trace to track my first or second Economic Impact Payments?
If a trace is initiated and the IRS determines that the check wasn’t cashed, the IRS will credit your account for that payment, but the IRS cannot reissue your payment. Instead, you will need to claim the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 tax return if eligible.

You must be thinking of your local police department.
I just received my own Letter 6475. Apparently they were late in sending some of them out.
IRS sent letter saying they never received my 2020 return
would wait. The IRS sent out a lot of letters. The last couple years were a mess and the IRS got way behind processing returns.
