I received my 1095 form after I filled my taxes, should i have to add this to my return? If so will that delay my return?

This is my 2017 1095 form by the way

If this was a Form 1095-B or C, then as long as you indicated in the program that you had health insurance all year, then there is no need to add that form to your return.  Those forms are for your records only and are used to establish that you were covered by insurance all year.

If this was a Form 1095-A, then you WILL need to add this to your return as you will have to reconcile the premium tax credit received from the marketplace.  It is very likely that your refund will be delayed as the IRS will probably send you a letter asking for your 1095-A and a Form 8962.  It may or may not have an effect on your tax return or refund, but you will need to enter it in order to find out.

Since you have already filed your return, you will need to start the amend your return process (click here for instructions on starting that process ).

Here’s how to enter 1095-A Health Insurance Marketplace Statement in TurboTax:

  • Select the Health Insurance section of TurboTax, at the top
  • When asked if you had health insurance in 2017, select the option that applies to you, and Continue
  • When asked about being enrolled in any of these less common plans in 2017, select Yes
  • On the What type of plan were you enrolled in? screen, select Obamacare or state Marketplace (1095-A) and then Continue
  • Follow the prompts to enter your 1095-A

Note: If you have any fields on your 1095-A with 0, please leave those blank in TurboTax.  If most of the lines across are the same, you can use the blue copy previous month button to enter it again.

Ok, I added some information in case its a 1095A.  But, if its a 1095B, then you won't have to do anything besides keep the form for your records.
