I received a "corrected" 2015 1099-DIV in December of 2016. What do I need to do with this?

Also wondering what I need to do with the state return (Oregon)

Does your "corrected" 2015 Form 1099-DIV show higher dollars amounts in any boxes other than 3, 5, or 7, when compared to your "original" Form 1099-DIV?  If so, then you will want to amend your tax return to reflect the new data, as it is likely that you could owe additional income taxes.  If you filed a state of Oregon tax return for 2015 too, then you will want to amend that as well.

On the other hand, if the corrected 1099-DIV indicates a reduction in your taxable dividend income, then filing an amended tax return is (legally) optional on your part . . . although doing so may result in you receiving an additional federal and / or Oregon tax refund.

You can also see the following webpage for additional information, and a short IRS video, on amending tax returns in general:

With respect to amending tax returns in TurboTax for the 2015 tax year in particular, you will want to review the information at the following links:

Please also note that if you used the TurboTax free file edition in 2015, or filed your tax return for that year by a preparation method other than TurboTax, then your 2015 original tax return data file would not be readily available for amending in the 2015 software -- and would therefore have to be "recreated" in the 2015 TurboTax software, in its original filing condition, before an amended tax return could be prepared from it.

Also, for completing an amended tax return of this nature, hiring a local and competent tax professional for their assistance in doing so is an option as well.

Thank you for asking this important question.
