I printed my return but did not mail it and needed to change something. Turbotax wants me to submit an amended return. Does it matter if I print and mail it as amended?

My e-file was rejected and I used Turbotax to print my forms to mail them (Federal and State). I went back and corrected the error. However, TT still thinks I am amending a return. But I haven't mailed anything to amend. How do I go back into TurboTax and change my return without having it be an amendment?

Please see the following links that show you how to "turn off" the amend flag, so you can make updates and file as if it's still the original return.

aside from inaccuracies in your TurboTax account,

to answer your question it doesn't matter.

You will be mailing Form 1040, not 1040-X.

The only way TurboTax could think you are amending is that you touched or clicked on the "AMEND" command.
