You bought the Desktop program but did you accidentally end up in the Online version?  Sorry you can't apply the Desktop CD/Download program purchase to the Online version.  They are separate prices and work different.

Did you pay for online yet?  You can move your return to the Desktop program without paying for online.

Or if you did use the Costco program what were you charged for?  There is a 24.99 fee to efile state from the Desktop program.

I've already finished filing online, so I paid twice. one in Costco and on in online turbo tax, so you mean I can get my money back from Costco?

thanks for the answer

Check with Costco first.   If Costco won't refund your money, you can use this online refund request form to return the CD, if you purchased it within the last 60 days:

If it's been longer than 60 days, then you'd need to phone TurboTax Support and tell them you were charged for both products since you used Online TurboTax by mistake instead of your Costco purchase, and see what they can work out for you.

Sure you can try to get a refund for the CD but I doubt they will refund that.  Did you open the package?  Did you install it?  Wish I knew how you ended up in the Online version instead of the installed program.  Do you remember why or how you logged into online?

Did you get the program installed and enter the 14 digit License Code to activate it?

You can move your Online file to the Desktop program and continue without paying for Online or needing to reenter your info.

To continue in the desktop version see this…….

After you get the program installed the first thing to do before you open your tax return .tax file is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW).
