TurboTax supports city returns for close to 300 municipalities. To check your city, see the Frequently Asked Question at the bottom of this answer. If your city tax return is not supported by TurboTax, visit your local government website for directions on completing your city return.
If TurboTax does support your city tax return, you will access your city return following the steps below.
Option #1 – You have not filed your state return yet:
Go to the “State Taxes” Tab and add a state if you haven’t already
On the “Which Cities Did You Live or Work In?” screen, choose your city
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your city return
Option #2 – You have filed your state return and it’s been accepted:
Click on Visit My Tax Timeline. (See Screenshot #1, below.)
Under Some Things You Can Do (below your 2015 return statuses), click on Amend (change) return. (Screenshot #2) [Don't worry, we're not amending your return, this is just a way to re-enter your return since the federal return has been filed and accepted.]
Click on Amend my return.
If you have completed your state return and wish to begin your city tax return, go to “Other Situations” and click “Start” next to the City Tax Returns
Tip: Once you use the amend feature to get back into your state return, you will cancel out of the amendment.

I am trying to update my city return (Pontiac MI), but can not return to the guided questions. I have tried editing my state return, but it never take me back to the city return, and there are no links to it. How do I return to the guide for my city return? TurboTax also does no re-ask what city do I work in ... so neither of the options provided work.

I debate if I should ever use Turbotax again. I contacted customer service, their answer was to delete my state tax return so I could re-enter data and get access to my city tax return. Really - that is the answer, delete what I have already worked on??? How about just adding a link to the city return? How could this have been missed during testing - modifying a return is normal, especially if you find you have to wait for a form that you don't have, but still want to enter all the information you do have. Not a happy customer at this stage.

This is my last year using turbotax and I will never recommend it. My City Tax return is incorrect, and I am unable to amend it. It included Non-Resident earnings in Resident earnings, which makes it taxable, it also taxed that at the incorrect rate! Now I have to do everything manually. Why do I pay for a computer-generated application?
