If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

When you mailed your tax return did you use a service like certified mail so you could get confirmation that the IRS received it?   Always use a service like that so you know the mail was received.   It takes at least four weeks for a human at the IRS to open your envelope; after that they enter it into the system and you can watch for information on the IRS refund site.  Have you looked there?

Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Did you also mail a state return to your state in its own separate envelope to the address for the state?

Did you e-file and select direct debit from your bank account?

If so, call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 888-353-4537 to inquire about or cancel your payment, but please wait 7 to 10 days after your return was accepted before calling.

@Warren575   If you owe tax due--what did you do at the time that you filed the return to pay the tax?  Did you enter information for a direct debit?   Pay the IRS on the payment site online?  Mail a check or money order?    When you look at the page of filing instructions that prints out with your return, what does it say about how you are going to pay the IRS?

Turbotax, helped me set up a payment plan.  It also instructed me to mail the 1040. Finally I paid 20% of what I owed via EFT. As far as I can tell the IRS has not received my 1040. I suspect its just taking longer to process but I am concerned that maybe something else is going on.
