I mailed my return 7 weeks ago and IRS haven't responded

It takes about four weeks before a human at the IRS even opens your envelope and puts it into the system.   You can watch for information on the IRS refund site.

 

Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

 

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

you get no response from the iRS on mailed returns. it is taking the IRS longer this year to process these types of returns.  in the future if you mail a tax return use a method whereby you can track it to know that the IRS/state received it.
