To verify what the IRS has on file, go to: IRS: View Your Tax Account. You may have to create your account to gain access. Be sure to only communicate with the IRS or who filed the tax return, such as TurboTax.

To speak with someone at TurboTax the phone number: (800) 446 - 8848. For more information about ways to contact TurboTax, see: What is the TurboTax phone number?

Otherwise, order the prior year transcripts from the IRS at  Get Transcript Online. Request the Record of Account type to see all the details for each available year. If a year is not listed, then file Form 4506-T for those years. The instructions are attached to the link and TurboTax will allow you to complete the form. The form would need to be mailed, though. For item 9, it would be 12/31/2015 for example.

Does "accepted" mean my refund is approved?

Last Chance to Claim Your Tax Refund: 2017, 2018 and 2019 can still be adjusted. 2017 refunds not processed can only be claimed until May 17, 2021.

The IRS maintains its records by the SSN of the first person listed on a Joint return, so be sure to use that one when checking.
