Do not click on any links in that email, or reply to it.  This may be a scam.  What specific issues did the notice include?

that there was a problem with the transfer of data of  W-2 payroll that may affect my 2018 tax return

Let me share your post with TurboTax Moderators, who won't be in until tomorrow.  They will be able to identify if this is a legitimate TurboTax email notice or a phishing scam.  Please wait until either I or one of the Moderators responds to you here to verify.  Thank you for your patience.

My pleasure.  There are so many scammers out there.  Better safe than sorry!

Just curious.  Did the email ask that you take any action?

it's asking me to delete all of my W-2 forms and manually re-enter them to get my maximum refund

There may truly have been a problem with the import function.  This is the first I've heard of it.  I'd still recommend waiting until a TT Moderator weighs in on this before taking any action.

I tried following these steps, but the thing I already filed and I can't do anything about this, but my taxes were accepted I don't know why I would have gotten this email 3 days later after it was accepted? It's just confusing.

They could have issued the email notice even weeks or months later....the issue cropped up at the W-2 providers computers...and it took that long to discover the problem even existed.

The IRS computers wouldn't know....they don't do actual W-2 matching until months later.

IF you've already e-filed.....you can't do a thing about it yet for a few weeks.

1)  First: Even if you think it was accepted...double-check your status on 2 Feb to make sure...no, not now:
<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/">https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/</a>

2)  IF it still says accepted then, then you might, or might not have to amend...and the amend forms are not ready until mid-Feb, and you also cannot amend until you get your original refund...or pay your original balance due....but you should wait until after 1 March anyhow........just in case you find some other forms that come later and you have more to amend ...you do NOT want to have to amend twice...that's madness.  DO NOT start an amended tax return now.

3) Go into your current tax file and save your taxes to a PDF file...with all forms and worksheets. Not just the filing copy.  Y(you might have done this already)
....3a) then compare the W-2 worksheet in there, to a "correct" copy of your W-2.  Check back with that employer..they may have sent you a correct paper copy, or they may need to issue you a new one.  IF they did issue a correct paper copy, and if the boxes on your W-2 paper copy exactly matches the boxes on the W-2 worksheet in Turbotax (ignore zero's). Then you won't have to amend...it wouldn't do anything.
....3b)  but if they do not match......then you may have to amend...then wait until 1 March...and start the amendment process then ...once you start to amend, you can go in and delete the existing W-2 and enter a new one from scratch....oar add any other changes you have to make at the same time for things you "forgot" about the fist time..

Amending is a special process..and the resulting forms must be mail-filed by you at the Post office (use a tracking method when you mail it).... and do not start it until you are sure you have everything ready...not before 1 March either.

Instructions for 2018 "WILL BE" located here, once the forms are allowed to be started.,,,amending is not allowed right now.
