I filed my taxes and received $547.00, i file an amendment and now it shows we owe $729.00. But line 37 says $272.00. Do i have to return the amount i got and add $272?

Any taxes owed will be on the amended tax return Form 1040-X on Line 20.

 

You do not change anything on the tax return that was filed to amend a tax return.  You Must use Form 1040-X

Remove any changes you made to the filed tax return.
