Do you need to do a state return? Don't think you can get State by itself unless you call in and buy it over the phone so they can put state in your online account.
To understand this--you used the 2018 CD but were never able to install any updates when you prepared your 2018 tax return? You prepared it with the CD right out of the package and never updated?
You must be able to connect to the internet for updates and to efile ... if the laptop has that capabilities then you can install the program there and move the .tax2018 file to finish your return.
The CD version is always preliminary software before many of the forms are finalized. There have been MANY updates since the CD was pressed. You MUST have the latest update applied prior to printing or the tax return will not be accurate or valid.
