I did a direct debit for my federal tax due. The bank denied it. I need the confirmation number from the direct debit to contact IRS

There is no confirmation number for a tax payment or a direct debit.  TurboTax sends the bank information you entered with the federal tax return.  The IRS then debits your account.

• If a payment is returned by your financial institution (e.g., due to insufficient funds, incorrect account information, closed account, etc.) the IRS will mail a Letter 4870 to the address we have on file for you, explaining why the payment could not be processed, and providing alternate payment options.
• In the event your financial institution is unable to process your payment request, you will be responsible for making other payment arrangements, and for any penalties and interest incurred.
• Contact your financial institution immediately if there is an error in the amount withdrawn.

To view the bank information you entered for the direct debit it will be on the Federal Information Worksheet in Part V of the worksheet.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

 

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state. 

This will take you back to the 2021 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
