I'd like to try TurboTax this year, but I may not be back next year. How do I get my data out of the "private cloud"? Can I request that my data be deleted?

Yes, you can remove all your return information following these steps:

  1. Sign into TurboTax.com and start your return.
  2. Go to My Account on the left column
  3. Choose "Clear & Start Over"
  4. Confirm your selection.

You must be logged into TurboTax.com; this function is not available in the mobile app.
