I am trying to edit my original (un-mailed) return but it is reverting to an "amendment (1040X) rather than a edit to the first draft. What is my next move?

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2019 online tax return where you can make your changes.

You should NOT use Amend to fix a rejected return.  You should Click on Add a State to let you back into your return.

If you clicked on the amend button to fix it you might need to undo that first.  How to delete an Amended return in the Online version

I have the same issue.  I wanted to see the actual documents to be filed and told TT I would mail the return but have yet to mail and want to edit it.  But I need to wait for the 1040.  It doesn't make sense.
