I am trying to ammend my 2021 return, as I need to enter a Schedule H since we have a nanny and are considered a household employer. Is this possible in turbo tax 2021?

You don't enter a Schedule H into TurboTax. When you enter your information about your household employee, TurboTax creates Schedule H as part of your tax return (or amended return) using the information that you enter.

After you answer Yes to the question "Did You Have a Nanny or Household Employee?" TurboTax asks a couple more questions to determine whether you are required to file Schedule H. If you are, it will then start asking for the information needed to fill out Schedule H.

You must start the amendment process before you enter anything about your nanny. Before you start to amend, save a PDF of your original tax return and a copy of the unmodified .tax2021 file so that you can go back to the original tax return if necessary.

How do I amend my federal tax return for a prior year?

Don't file the amended return until your first return has been accepted and you have received the original refund.

 

The IRS says it is currently taking 20 weeks or more to process an amended return.
