No one legitimate will call you or email you from this   PUBLIC forum ... and  you will need to mail in the return so you can't get it posted until Monday even it you get this done tonight.

What exactly are you still confused about after all the posts and answers ?

Well aren't you a tax specialist just working after hours answering these questions on this forum?? Meaning the ones during the daytime during normal business hours that you can speak with over the phone aren't you and and them one in the same?? So I don't understand why someone can't give me a quick call it's not anything that would take up a lot of time it would be a matter of a couple of minutes but I know that I have to mail in the return but my issue is that I need to at least get it finished and then once I get it finished I can still be able to make a copy of the printed out amended return and then be able to use that copy to show my other sources that is needing to see this in order for me to complete something that needs to be completed by tonight. So in other words When it gets posted is not what matters right now. It's just getting it done and then being able to print off a copy of it showing that it was done so that I can then show my other sources proof that it was done. That makes sense?

why doesn't a Turbotax rep call you?  did you read that this is a PUBLIC FORUM. it's read by scammers and identity thieves. for that reason, your personal info isn't deleted. so no one from Turbotax will call.  Turbotax has no way to make sure if it initiates a call that it's really you. would you like your personal info released to an identity thief?

the free version offers no support. if you have a paid version such as premium or self-employed, you can call but only during business hours.

5am-5pm Pacific Time (8-8 Eastern) Monday - Friday

@ Adam80

You appear to be using the Live Self-Employed Edition (at least that is what is displayed underneath your question), which does qualify to have live tax help.  In fact, with that product you have paid extra for live tax expert support.   While TurboTax Support will not normally phone a user from this community forum, you can reach a live tax expert or arrange for a tax expert to contact you as part of your Live product.   See the FAQ below:

FAQ:  How do I connect with a tax expert in TurboTax Live?

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/expert-review/help/how-do-i-connect-with-a-tax-expert-in-turbotax-live/00/27282

Support hours are 5AM-5PM Pacific (8AM-8PM Eastern) Monday-Friday.

If you're indeed using a Live product, then that's the preferred method to be routed correctly, but if you have trouble with that method, you can use this general contact form to be assigned a phone number (or possibly a callback), but it's only active during the same business hours:

I didn't get any luck with connecting with live help just now because it says that all specialists aren't available right now and that they're only available Monday through Friday 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..... so, so much for reaching someone outside of the Monday through Friday hours.

  • I tried going that route and selecting live help but it says that all specialists are unavailable right now and will not be available until Monday 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Friday.

How do I go about seeing my amended return in the PDF form with the lines and the numbers without submitting it because obviously I don't want to submit it if it's wrong

  • After the return is open, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then PRINT CENTER.
  • Then choose "Print, save, view this year's return."
  • The next screen should offer some options:  "Just my tax returns", or "include government worksheets (optional)", or "include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional.)"
  • See if one of those PDFs has what you need.  The latter has the most pages.

I'm still confused because I have yet to be given the right answer that I need for my question concerning my 2019 return that I am amending. It's quite simple to explain but yet I can't seem to get a helpful answer. I only amended my 2019 return for the sole purpose of reporting my wife's $2,000 self-employment income. Which should have us owing if anything but I'm now at the end of it and I have not submitted anything yet because something is obviously not right. It is saying that I have a refund of 4,084 coming when I already received a refund for that year of $4,640. Something is obviously not right and I'm desperately needing some help here but I can't speak with anybody because no one at TurboTax works on the weekends.

IGNORE the Refund-O-Meter ... that may be what is confusing you ...

The only thing you can really do is review the original 1040 against the new 1040 line by line to see where the differences are ... if you can be specific on which lines on which forms are not looking correct then maybe we can help you tonight.

Also review the 1040X ...  is something in column B that looks off ?

Column A should have the figures from the original return, Column C the corrected figures and Column B the differences between the other 2 which needs an explanation on page 2 of the form 1040X.

If you completed it correctly you will see an entry on either line 16 OR 18:

On line 16 should be the amount you paid with your original return.

On line 18 should be the amount of your original refund you received.

Then you will see your extra refund on line 22 OR  the new balance due you need to pay on line 20.

Okay i will go get those numbers for you and come back and share it with you....but what you're saying about the refund a meter at the top of the left hand side of the page doesn't matter what it says?? And could it be perhaps that the difference between the $4,640 that I received in my refund on my original return in 2019 and what it's saying now being $4,084 that I'm getting back now after I'm done amending it would be all that matters? Would be what I would actually owe meaning $556???

Yes ... that meter reflects what is on the form 1040  NOT the 1040X  so if you didn't look at the 1040X when you posted then I can see you being very confused.   $2000 x 25% = $500 would be about right for adding SE income (15% SE taxes + 10% federal taxes).
