Typically, the IRS says that it will take three weeks to get your refund through direct deposit. However, most times it comes sooner.
The IRS will not begin accepting tax returns until 1/29/18. You can still prepare your return in TurboTax now, but you will not be able to file it until the IRS begins accepting them (it will remain securely on our server until then).
(A few returns will be processed up to a week before this date for testing purposes.)
Note: If your return is among those that the IRS processes early as part of its testing, your tax refund (if any) won't be processed until after January 29.
By law, the IRS cannot issue refunds for people claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) before mid-February 2018.
The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or debit cards starting on Feb. 27, 2018, if direct deposit was used and there are no other issues with the tax return.
This law change, which took effect at the beginning of 2017, helps ensure that taxpayers receive the refund they’re due by giving the IRS more time to detect and prevent fraud.

I am assuming mine was one that was selected for early processing. I filed on the 18th of Jan, received a text saying it was accepted on the 19th of Jan and this morning (27th of Jan) checked Where's My Refund and it gave a dd date of 31st Jan 2018. We shall see if it is actually there that day.
TurboTax is still at middle bar "accepted on 2/3/18" but the estimated ddd is 02/21/18 hopefully I'll get mine also. thanx for input.
Filed on the 1/26/19 accept on the 28th when should I be looking for my refund
Hello, where do you guys find out where it gives you expected tax refund date? I filed on 1/28/19 and it got accepted the same day, but I haven’t received any refund yet. I did direct deposit.
Has anybody that you guys know, or your selves over the years get your refund on the holiday.. cause I seen somewhere that the IRS can still send out the refund but it's up to the bank.
Filed 1/27
Accepted 1/28
Path message 2/1
2 bar 2/15
DDD 2/22-27
I have a pre paid card so the past 2 years I got my money in the 16th.. I can get it 2 days sooner. so I'm wondering.. when will I get it this time. It would be nice if I would have hot it today.
am I suppose to get email on when my refund is sent to the bank
still no deposit date here. mine was accepted 1/17/19. today is 2/21/19, wheres my money??
My friend received her DD refund on 2/19... her taxes were approved on 1/25.... so I’m hoping to see mine soon.
cbommarito88 Can you please ask your friend about what time the Deposit was put in their account? That would be very helpful, and appreciated.
@cbommarito88 IRS website Click on wheres my refund. You need your social security number filing status and Exact Dollar amount of your return
What time are you DD hiting your bank
My mom's DDD was 2/22 came at 9:00am
My DDD was yesterday I sent it but nothing so far
The date the IRS sent the refund isn't always the same as the date it is made available to you. Once it's sent, the timeframe is then on bank processing...and no longer an IRS matter. Processing/pending time varies from bank to bank...your bank may take a day or 2 longer than mine, to make funds available to you. Some will show that it's pending, others may not show a pending status on your end (as if the bank hasn't receive anything).
The IRS gives a 21 day timeframe but more often than not, it doesn't take that long. This time period allows enough time to process the refund without people prematurely/unnecessarily calling the IRS and using up their manpower. After 21 days, you can call and the IRS will address the delay. They request you contact your bank to verify the hold up isn't on their end first.
One other thing I try to point out as a misunderstanding... is to keep in mind there are 2 separate steps to the IRS processing refunds, that are frequently confused to be 1 step:
Accepted (step 1) and Approved (step 3). Accepted only means it was received, not that the numbers (or claimed refund amount) have been accepted as correct. Approved is the IRS has verified your return/refund is correct.
I filed on 2/15 during the morning; accepted before midnight on the 15th , the return accepted bar stayed there until yesterday, 2/23 and now says approved bar with DD date for 2/27...Turbo Tax still only shows accepted,so my advice is to actually continue to check it's.gov website.

turbo tax seems to be getting worst every year my other room mates have received their funds I haven't yet
TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS once they have accepted your return. The IRS issues more than 9 out of 10 refunds in less than 21 days. However, it’s possible your tax return may require additional review and take longer. Where's My Refund? has the most up to date information available about your refund. The tool is updated daily so you don’t need to check more often.
It can take up to 5 business days for your bank to deposit your tax return into your account. If the status in Where’s My Refund? shows “Refund Sent”, the IRS has sent your tax refund to your bank for direct deposit. If you don't receive it in after 5 business days, then you should contact your bank.
So I filed my income tax and it got accepted and the bar is all the way full so how long should it take to be direct deposit cuz I checked my online account from the green. And it says zero balance still but the bars all the way full
If it's been less than 21 days since your return was accepted, check the IRS Where's My Refund? site for your refund status. After 21 days, we suggest contacting the IRS directly. Go here for tips on how to reach a live IRS agent.
Keep in mind, if you claimed the EIC (Earned Income Credit) or ACTC (Additional Child Tax Credit), the IRS expects the first of these refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards by the first week of March.
