It says to reload TT but advises me there is already one on the computer and I need to erase it. Most of my data is already in the program so I don't want to do that. AI is saying click on "fix my return" which I can't find let alone get past "we're glad you're here" first page.
Maybe this thread from last year will help. Read the whole thread. And your data is not kept in the program but in a separate data file ending in .tax2024 so it shouldn’t be affected by uninstalling the program.

Two things to try...but use both in succession.
Close TTX, then
1) rt-click on the 2021 TTX startup icon and select "Run as Administrator"
Once started:
2) go to the top menu, select the "Online" popup/pulldown menu and select "Check for Updates", and run any updates.
Then try to open that file.
