How can I open my 2015 return with newer versions of Turbo Tax?

Can I access my 2015 return with newer versions of TurboTax?

Sorry, no.  If you only have the tax data file, you need a copy of Turbotax for 2015 to open it.  (If you saved a copy as a PDF, that will open in any PDF reader program.)

There are a couple companies on the web that will convert a data file into a PDF for a small fee, I can't recommend a specific one and can't vouch for their security, it's buyer beware.

If you still have the CD you can re-install it.  If you had a download, you can see if the download is still in your account.  There is no limit on the number of downloads but eventually the company stops supporting old versions.

If you have the file ending in .tax2015 you need that year's program to open it.  Or you can try converting it to a pdf using <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.taxprinter.com">www.taxprinter.com</a> which is not connected with Turbo Tax or Intuit.
