Yes. It is possible for a return with errors to be accepted. The IRS might find certain kinds of mistakes and fix them, but they do not find or correct every mistake. Do you have a specific concern about a mistake you think you made?

Yes i did my taxes on the 12th and it got accepted on the 20th but it was an option saying did I ever get my third stimulus check and i checked yes and i recently discovered i have got it in 2021 in March
@56b6d096a577 If you messed up and answered incorrectly for the 3rd EIP payment and have an amount on line 30 of your Form 1040----that is one of the mistakes the IRS looks for. The IRS knows if you got that payment. They will find it and reduce your refund. Expect a significant delay while that happens.
Look on line 30----

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
@56b6d096a577 No. That would be a waste of time. The IRS is not going to talk to you and make changes to your accepted tax return over the phone. Sit tight and wait for your return to be processed.
I have the same problem . It ask me “did u or ur husband received the stimulus check” since i received mine and not my husband i answered No
did i answer that correctly?
And why does it say $4200 on line 30?
@pptal If you have an amount on line 30 it means you are saying you are still owed the third EIP payment for 3 people----3 x $1400 = $4200. If you already received that amount last year as a stimulus payment then you have answered the questions incorrectly. You cannot get that $1400 per person twice. if you already got that money, the IRS knows it. If you claim it again on your tax return, your return will go under review and they will take it away---delaying your refund for months.
The question was confusing its a yes or no question
“did u or ur husband received the stimulus “
i recieved mine but not his . So how am i supposed to answer that🥲
@56b6d096a577 No amending will not help you. It takes the IRS over six months to process an amended return-----and you cannot even amend a 2021 return yet---not until at least the end of February. As already stated to you----you have no option right now except to wait for what the IRS does with your return. You cannot change your accepted return. You and lots of other people made a mistake that the IRS knows how to deal with---but you will wait for the IRS. Sorry.
