1. You have to use the software from the year you are amending. If you used TurboTax for the original returns, you have the software available. You will amend the S-corp with the same software as the original. Then switch over to the personal software to amend your personal return.

 

Be sure to save your original return before doing anything.

 

 If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been submitted you should follow these guidelines. 

• You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed. 
• You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return. 
• Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return. 
• The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due 
• Only make changes to the areas of your return that need amending. 
• You havethree years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment for a refund.

2. You won't be able to e-file if you didn't use TurboTax for your original return. The read in ability is for importing your tax forms like W2 rather than your whole tax return for that year. We do import prior year whole returns. See Can I transfer last year's PDF into TurboTax Desktop 2023?
