E-filed and forgot Form 8332 so return was rejected

I e-filed my return. It was rejected because someone else claimed my children as dependents.  I do not think anyone else claimed them. I think it is because I forgot to get the form 8332 and include it in my return. My Ex who has custody will give me form 8332 to allow me to claim the children. Can I amend my return and include the 8332 form and re-E-file?

It depends.

If your return was rejected, it was never really filed unless you mailed the return in.

If you never refiled your return, you may not need to amend.  You can simply include the form and try to electronically file it again.

If however, you did mail the federal return in, you may have to mail the amended return in as well.  Please see the link below for additional links as to form updates to let you know when the 1040X is available within TurboTax.
