in 2018 a 1040X was sent in but the IRS is not seeing or not using it. The incorrect filling has a AGI as 191676 (INCORRECT) The 1040X has a AGI of158870 (CORRECT). Do I have to change it back to the incorrect AGI? Can I re-efle after this change,or send by mail? When I e-filed I set up for automatic payment from my checking. What happens to this?
You would use the AGI from your original 2018 tax return. Do not use the amount from your amended return.
When your return gets rejected no information is sent to the IRS, so your payment information has not gone through.
You can check your e-file status yourself:
Sign in to TurboTax to check your current status. You'll find it in Tax Home after sign in.
If you've got an Alexa device, you can enable it to check for you.
If you used TurboTax CD/Downloadyou can check your e-file status by opening the File menu and selecting Check E-filing status or by opening your return, selecting the File tab, and selecting the Check E-file Status header.

Yes the replay helped me. I changed it back to the original 2018 AGI and re-efiled. I have not heard if the corrected e-filing has been received. Wished I had mailed.

Hello,
I have the same issue, I used the amended agi and failed. I used my credit card $24.99. Now I am going to fixed it and re-send it. It seems that I am going to be re-charged again?

No, you should not have to enter your CC information again to e-file the state tax return since the first e-filing was rejected. Nor should be you be charged the $24.99 again when e-filing the corrected tax returns.
But I am in the page which asks me to input CC information. Please see the images.
I am confused.
@zhshqzyc Contact TurboTax support for this issue. If you already entered your CC information for e-filing the state tax return and you were charged $24.99 on the card, then you should not be charged again since the first e-file was rejected. Verify on your CC account that there is a $24.99 charge and if there is contact support.

The 2018 AGI is on the 2018 Federal tax return you filed Form 1040 Line 7
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947
To access your current or prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on View adjusted gross income (AGI)
Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
If your tax return continues to be rejected with the 2018 AGI then enter a 0 (zero) for the AGI and e-file again.
If this is also rejected then you will have to print and mail the tax return.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for printing a tax return for mailing - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/printing/help/how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online...
The original charge for the tax due and the processing fee is showing on my bank statement. How can I be sure I will not be charged twice
@qualifying widower Why do you think you will be charged twice?
If you are looking at your TurboTax account and seeing a tax due amount, that is because the online account never updates to show that you paid your tax due. TurboTax never knows how, when or even if you paid your tax. The online account will only show the result of the tax return you prepared using the software; if you owed tax, that will always be shown in your account even after you pay it.
I have never e filed before. I have no access to the 2018 agi. I have no pin number

Enter a 0 (zero) for the 2018 AGI since you have not filed a 2018 tax return.
If this is also rejected then you will have to print and mail the tax return.

Do loop of information. Rejected -->Confirm AGI --> Confirmed with number from Turbo Tax AGI from 2018 --> e-file again --> Rejected.... and on and on. I did not find an alternative to fixing this problem or what to do if not resolved. ALso, with the rejection, Turbo Tax highlights the PIN number. Am I to remove? Nothing to change. I am making an assumption that my ONLY option is to file by mail. Now, it is not clear if I need a letter or include the rejected notice with the mailed copy to show I filed on time. Frustrating and makes Turbo Tax more trouble than the help it provides. There are options to Turbo Tax and after 5 years of purchasing, I will not again.
My E-File keeps being rejected for incorrect PIN numbers after I corrected the format of the PIN number. What should I do?
Provided that my E-File, (which includes a payment plan request) is accepted am I required to mail a hard copy?
If your e-file is accepted you do not need to mail anything--it is all electronic, But if you cannot fix your Pin or AGI and get the e-file accepted you will have to print sign and mail the return. You have five days to try to e-file it again. After that, e-filing will shut down and you will need to print sign and mail your return and include a copy of the e-file rejection notice with the return.

Your 2018 tax return shows your 2018 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.
Form 1040 line 7
If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Home for 2018
If entering the amount from your 2018 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead. If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2018 AGI may not be in the system.
