Does anyone else think it's ok that I agreed to pay out of my refund, refund is delayed, now Turbotax is coming after their $30? I haven't got my money either TurboTax.

Filed in March, my refund still has not been processed. So I have not received my money yet, though i agreed to pay for the services out of my refund. Received an email stating since i had not paid yet they would be taking it out of my bank account. NO, you will not take funds from my bank account. I did not agree to that, neither did you. Both parties agreed that services rendered could be paid for out of the refund. So I AM SORRY TurboTax, but I haven't got my money nor have I been able to get ANY sort of help or information from YOU or the IRS. I would STRONGLY suggest you have someone email me.

Sorry you did agree to it.  Sounds like the IRS is taking too long to send your refund or reduced it. See What if the IRS reduces your refund or delays it.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/payments/help/what-if-my-federal-refund-isn-t-enough-to-cover-my-turbotax-fees/00/26313

Then when the IRS does send your refund they won't take the fees out again.

And, Why you got charged,
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-turbotax-fees/00/26102

You should have received about 4 emails asking for the fees. If you don't pay they will debit your account. You had to agree to it.

You should have read what you were really agreeing to.   People get in a hurry to file and do not read the screens carefully enough and then can be surprised by what you really agreed to when you chose to have your fees taken out of your federal refund.   What did you buy for $30----was it PLUS?   And when you agreed to have the fee for that taken out of your refund did you see that there is an additional $40 fee called a "refund processing fee" to have the third party bank receive your refund, take out your fees and send you the rest?   The amount they are after will likely really be $30  + $40 refund processing---even worse.   Sorry.

Call them and ask to have the fee deferred for awhile.

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

Did you even read wtf I wrote or are you just following a script? I agreed to pay out of my refund, they said NOTHING about charging my directly if my refund took a while because the IRS is taking forever....really funny you open with "You should read what you agreed to" when you can't even read/understand what YOU are responding to.

Second paragraph.......you authorize Intuit to debit your account if your refund is delayed.

Ok, but literally nothing in that pertains to what I am talking about. COCKY AND WRONG are a horrible combination. Just stop if you aren't going to atleast read what I am writing. YOU AREN'T HELPFUL BECAUSE YOU AREN'T ADDRESSING THE ISSUE, Idc about your intentions or what you gotta do to make yourself feel good. But if you aren't going to help then just stay quiet because you are more of a hindrance then you are anything else. I mean that sincerely.

My refund was not rejected, it just hasn't been processed because the IRS is backlogged from last year due to covid. I've looked into this, over 20m Americans are STILL waiting for this year's refund to be processed. My taxes are in Limbo, I AGREED to have the fee withdrawn from my tax refund. TurboTax AGREED to take the payment from my refund WHEN I GOT IT. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A DIME OF MY FEDERAL REFUND.

Guess I'll just have to f#ck turbotax like they trying to do to me. That's fine, you wanna play this "OH WELL YOU DIDNT READ THE FINE PRINT SO I GOTCHA" Cool, SEE wtf happens when you try and mess with a desperate person's money. No that aint a threat of violence or anything more then me spreading the word....oh the power of social media and what it can do to a business...can really get some eyes looking at you, get some regulations and such changed if the right people are watching.

But for real, they charge me anything out of my bank account. I'll never use their service again.  If they don't have the basic human decency to defer payments on delayed refunds AUTOMATICALLY in a year where THEY (SHOULD) KNOW the IRS is backed up and refunds will take longer then expected BECAUSE OF A PANDEMIC. That's not a company that deserves my money, that is a bunch of slimeball pieces of trash that deserve to be made an example of in the town square. IDGAF what i agreed to. Come tell me to read the fine print in person, please... give me that as the reason you feel you get to take money unexpectedly.  You wanna come rob me, have the balls to face me.

@ Boski1993

Sorry you're having trouble with an auto-debit, but this is mainly a user community forum--not a direct route to TurboTax Support, so they won't see your comments here.

The first paragraph in the FAQ below has a phone number you can use to phone TurboTax Support for help with the auto-debit process such as asking for a deferral.

FAQ:  Why was my bank account auto-debited for the TurboTax fees?

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-was-my-bank-account-auto-debited-for-tur...

Since you mentioned a $30 charge, I assume you used Free Edition with PLUS (29.99).  PLUS includes phone support, so you should be able to talk to them.

If you want to go provide feedback to TurboTax about your experience, here's how to reach Intuit Corporate.

You can go to the page at the link below, and just below the page's large title, you'll see a screen-wide

blue banner

that prominently says:

"Do you have a question, concern, or feedback about an Intuit product or service?"

https://www.intuit.com/company/executives/

There is a "Send an email" link with an arrow.  It goes to a designated person in the office of the President of Intuit, and they supposedly will assign it to the right team for review.

NOTE:  Do NOT send any sensitive personal data since that is regular email--not secure email.

Don't forget that this is the same company that lobbied against the American people to keep their company around.

For future reference do not use any refund processing service with ANY tax prep company if you don't like the fine print in the contract because all the DIY programs have these clauses and so do the Brick & Mortar stores that provide these options.  Always pay the fees upfront with your own debit or credit card to avoid the fee and aggravation.

And if you qualify you can use one of the 10 IRS FREE FILE options but you must use the link on the IRS site that becomes operational in mid January each tax year :  https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free

I agree with you fully and those dumb a-holes replying with the comments they made must have received their refunds. I am a pissed off **bleep** about my same experience as you. The people who “read” ever word of agreement can jump up their own asses. I have NEVER had to wait so long for my very simple refund and it CANNOT be blamed on the lame ass COVID junk, by now that bs isn’t new and turbo tax and the incompetent IRS should have they’re s@*t together. Last year maybe it could be understandable but they’ve all had time to figure things out. The rest of us sure as hell have. So no, it is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable of both TT and efin IRS to hang on to or take money.. Guess that’s exactly how people are able to get stimulus money. Ponzu scam at its best.

To the know it all’s, but are really a bunch of No Needs, Shut up. Maybe some people simply need and deserve their refund. Fall off whatever fictitious high horse you trot on because if it happened to you and you need the money you wouldn’t be so condescending. There’s a reason people opt for it to be taken out of their refund genius’s and if turbo tax makes an offer that helps, then it’s their agreement to do so. Yet a live person can’t be reached or answer us. It is 100% not one of our faults that refunds haven’t been delivered therefore, TT should stick to THEIR written agreement of taking it from refunds. It never said there was a deadline and we don’t get refunded in a specific time then no deal. You idiots are the problem of society. Bunch of **bleep**ing Karens

@Shamoore1024   You have added on to an old post.   What refund are you looking for?   What are your details?   The IRS is taking longer this year to send refunds. Like 6 months or more. Keep waiting.   Were the fees supposed to come out of your refund but Turbo Tax took it out of your bank account?

I just think we should do our own taxes next year and never use TurboTax again. This is dishonest and their customer service is rude and horrible. TurboTax has been fighting the IRS making it easier for people to file their taxes directly so that they can continue to make money off of us. They clearly do not care about people. I say we do our own or go somewhere else. TurboTax doesn't deserve a dime.

I agree with you 100%. They took the payment 237.00 because I wanted my bases covered and then they wouldn’t even help me with the situation that irs was looking at.  Paying back home owners credit.  Well the 467 turbo tried to make me pay is now add in my return.. but I don’t see the 237 they already took from me add back into the return. Double dipping I say

I have spoke with TurboTax trying to get the form irs needed and they would not help me  and it was their screwup. I request a total refund but that was another run around.  My advise to anyone is. Do your taxes yourself or through the irs.gov portal., TurboTax is making money by scamming taxpayers. Their so called expertise is crap!
