Defense Accounting Finance Service 1099-R FIN number missing last digit error.

I received a notification by mail  several days after filing TurboTax Free, that my Defense Accounting Finance Service 1099-R FIN was issued in January is  missing the last digit. They reissued a replacement 2020 1099-R, which i received today. Although my return was already processed and went thru, according to the TurboTax program notification.

Will this error on my filing be rejected from the IRS, and if so, can it be corrected now?

I filed  online about 4 days ago.

The IRS may or may not reject your return. However, since your e-filed return has been accepted, you can amend your return to correct the error. Please see below for more information.

It's possible that this could cause the government to reject your return, but you won't know for certain until after they process it.  The IRS begins processing 2020 returns on February 12, 2021. At this time, they will either accept or reject the return.

If accepted, you can amend your tax return to include the correct Defense Accounting Finance Service 1099-R FIN number.  You'll find assistance with amending a return here: How to amend (change or correct) a return you already filed

If rejected, you'll be able to revisit your return to add this number.  Refer to the following Help Article for help with fixing a rejected return:  How do I fix a rejected return?

Yes, the corrected 1099 R has already been received, and am aware it was missing the last digit (after the fact).

The question was, will my return be rejected by the IRS as a result of this error from Defense Accounting Finance Service, as i had already processed my return thru TurboTax, and was informed that the return had been accepted.

My return status says "Pending", so i have to wait until either rejected or accepted to amend.

Thank you.
