Can I get the copy of my 2016 tax return? I filed it with Turbotax but it looks like I'm not able to get the copy of it now. Could you advise?

I filed my 2016 tax return with Turbotax and I clicked "Download/print return(PDF)" but it says "It looks like you need to pay first to instantly access your TurboTax returns".  It's just a copy what I filed in 2016.  Why should I pay for it?

Hi,

Was it prepared in Free Edition and access has now expired?

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/3355524-when-does-access-to-my-prior-year-turbotax-online-returns-expire

If so, we can tell you how to  pay for a PLUS upgrade (19.99) in the SAME account to unlock all prior returns in that account.

What about 2018?   Have you already started a 2018 return or have you already filed a 2018 return?

Be aware there's a free option if a tax return transcript would suit your purpose.  You may be able to immediately download a prior-year return transcript at this IRS website at the link below.  If you don't qualify to open a free IRS account there, you can order one to come by postal mail, which normally takes 5-10 calendar days.

Please refer the following article to see how to download prior year returns prepared in TurboTax Online -

Hope this helps!
