American Opportunity Tax Credit - delay return?

TurboTax figured I was eligible for the AOTC from my school. I filed on the 2nd, no updates at all and no bars on WMR. IS there a certain date ours are available? Or what? I also have some business income on there but everything was 100% accurate, checked and double checked and I'm gonna be over the 21 days. ERG! ANy advice?

If your return was accepted less than 21 days ago, hang in there. It can take anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks to go from acceptance to approval.

My return is accepted but still not approved. Is there a problem? Should I be worried?

They also just recently started processing returns claiming EIC and/or ACTC.

During processing, the government reviews your refund. During the review process, they look for math errors on your return (extremely rare in TurboTax) and they also check if you owe back taxes, unpaid child support, or other debts.

If they need to make any corrections, they may offset (reduce) your refund. In some cases, the correction might even increase your refund.

Once that part's done, the government approves your refund, which means it's ready to be deposited or sent.  At that point the IRS site will update with a direct deposit date.
