Accidentally had clicked the file button hoping it would start up filing my taxes but it submitted them without me putting any information in.

You can always check to see if you did e-file your return by clicking here:  Check your e-file status

If you did transmit your return you will not be able to make any changes to it until it is accepted or rejected by the IRS.  The IRS will start processing returns January 29.

If your return is rejected, just go back into your return to add your information.  If the IRS accepted your return, which is unlikely, you will have to amend your return.

Do you mean the big orange button that said "Trasnmit Return Now?"

Maybe not.
Did you complete all of the 3 Steps in the File section of the program?  In Step 3 did you click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now"?
Did you receive an email from TurboTax acknowledging the transmission of the tax return?

You cannot file a zero income return so if you didn't enter in any income then you could not have efiled. Did you get an email telling you the return was submitted ?

No I did not get an email but when I go to the homepage it tells me “Way to go! You filed your 2017 taxes” and it says $0 total 2017 tax refund and I can’t find anywhere to cancel or restart it

No third party tax company allows you to CANCEL a tax return once it has been sent.   It's a business and a security decision.  You have already paid, had your card charged and entered all of the information for the IRS.  To to have all that CANCELLED means you would have to be issued an automatic refund to your card, processes chosen like "pay with my refund" or "refund loans" would have to be undone; all of which would be rife for fraud, mistakes and security issues.   So that's why it is just easier to make the policy, once you've transmitted that's it.   If you need to change anything then you can do that through the IRS's Amend process only allows for one e-file.

Turbo Tax likes to give the example that it's like sending a package in the mail that you've already paid to be sent which I guess is an OK comparison.   We can understand the post office not wanting to go through thousands of packages, pulling yours out and canceling the shipment.   With an electronically filed tax return that's sitting in a server waiting for the IRS to accept it,  there is no physical effort involved so why can't Turbo Tax simply pull the file off the server and give it back to you - again it's a business decision as to why that can't happen.
