Your best bet is to ask your employer or payroll department for another copy of your W-2.
Although you may have previously filed with us, we didn't save a copy of your W-2. And if you used our mobile app to snap a picture of your W-2, it also hasn't been saved on your device.
How can I get a copy of my current or past W-2 online without contacting my employer?
Here are some options:
Order a copy from the Social Security Administration. It's free if you need it for Social Security-related reasons, otherwise, it's $62 per request.
Order a full copy of your return from the IRS for $30, which will also include your W-2.
Wage and income transcripts are available from the IRS free of charge. They're not exact copies, but they contain everything on your W-2, except the state and local information.
How do I get my W-2 if I didn't receive one?
Employers typically have until January 31 to issue W-2s to employees.
If it’s after January 31 and you still don’t have your W-2, reach out to your employer's payroll or human resources department to ask when and how they issued your W-2. If they mailed it to an old or incorrect address, the post office may have returned it to the employer.
If that's the case, you can ask your employer to reissue your W-2.
If your W-2 went missing because of a mail problem, you can use TurboTax to retrieve a copy. As long as your employer issued one, TurboTax can most likely import it.
