You can get an error stating Your configuration has been modified (prd.ini, startup)... when installing TurboTax for Windows.
Run a virus scan if you haven't done so recently. If no viruses are found, try each of these steps to see if they resolve this error.
- Close any programs that are running
- Run Windows Update
- Temporarily disconnect from the internet
- Temporarily disable virus-protection and other security software
- Install TurboTax again
- You can also try installing in Selective Startup Mode
