Tax returns prepared in TurboTax Desktop are stored on your computer or storage device, even if you filed electronically. Unlike TurboTax Online, we don't maintain returns prepared in TurboTax Desktop on our secure servers.
- To find your return, use your computer's Search or Find function.
- If you just need to view or print your return, we recommend doing it from the PDF copy, which will open in Adobe Reader.
- You can also search for the tax data file, but you'll need to open it in the same-year version of TurboTax (for example, open your 2022 return in TurboTax 2022, not an earlier version). From there, you can print a copy of your return as well as update or amend it.
- Finally, if you can't find your tax return, but you know you filed one, you can request a copy from the IRS.
